archlinux and new cups version
everytime there is a new cups version, it seems to forget about my network printer. adding it again is no big deal, but i always hated to have a root passwd.
so just add something like 'wheel' to 'SystemGroup' in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf, done.

Installing Brother MFC 425CN Scanner on Archlinux
find out brscan version at: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public_s/id/linux/en/download_scn.html
install brscan2 from aur: yaourt brscan2
install other stuff: pacman -S xsane xsane-gimp sane
add udev rule to file /etc/udev/rules.d/53-sane.rules:
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04f9", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0194", MODE="0664", GROUP="scanner", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
(look at lsusb for idVendor:idProduct)
(re)plug usb cable.
add scanner group: gpasswd -a user scanner
relogg.
add "brother2" to /etc/sane.d/dll.conf.
open xsane and have fun.
